Best Adult Driving Schools in Texas, by City
These city guides cover local driving schools that teach adults 18 and up and run the Texas road test — services Happy Drivers Ed does not offer. We are a TDLR-licensed online provider for the required education step; the schools below handle the in-car practice and road test. Pick your metro to see who is best for what, where they operate, and public pricing — or start with our adult driving lessons cost guide to see what lessons run statewide.

Before behind-the-wheel practice matters, first-time applicants ages 18–24 need the 6-hour adult driver education course. It is online, self-paced, and $39.95 with Happy Drivers Ed. Meet the required course time, pass the in-course written exam, and Texas DPS accepts your Certificate of Completion in lieu of the written knowledge test. Then complete ITAD and book behind-the-wheel time with a school above.
