Our Certificate of Completion is issued by a TDLR-approved adult driver education provider (provider number C3476), so it is designed to be accepted by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). The most common reason a certificate is questioned is a mismatch between the certificate and your ID — so it helps to know what DPS checks.
What DPS Looks For
- Your full legal name, matching your identification documents exactly
- Your correct date of birth
- The provider's TDLR license number
- A unique certificate number
- The course completion date
- A printed copy presented in person
Common Reasons a Certificate Is Questioned
- The name on the certificate doesn't match your ID exactly (including middle names/initials)
- The date of birth is incorrect or doesn't match your ID
- The certificate is illegible due to poor print quality
- The certificate appears altered
If you spot an error, get it fixed before your visit — see certificate error correction.
Before Your DPS Visit
- Compare the name on your certificate to your government-issued ID
- Confirm your date of birth is accurate
- Make sure the completion date and certificate number are present
- Test that the PDF opens and prints clearly
If You Have Concerns
DPS policies can vary slightly between offices and change over time. If you have any concern about acceptance, call the specific DPS office where you plan to apply before your appointment. Our certificates use a TDLR-assigned certificate number with an ADEE prefix and are issued under provider C3476, a TDLR-licensed adult driver education provider.
