My Certificate Has an Error. What Should I Do?

If you notice an error on your Certificate of Completion, get it corrected before visiting DPS. Incorrect information — especially a name or date of birth that doesn't match your ID — can cause delays when you apply for your license.

Common Certificate Errors

  • Misspelled first, middle, or last name
  • Incorrect date of birth
  • Name format that doesn't match your government-issued ID

How to Request a Correction

  1. Email [email protected] with your account email and the specific error
  2. Provide proof of the correct information (government ID, birth certificate, etc.)
  3. Our team will update your profile and regenerate the certificate
  4. Download the corrected certificate from your course dashboard

Processing Time

Name and date-of-birth corrections are typically processed within 1–2 business days. If you have an upcoming DPS appointment, mention it in your email and we will prioritize the correction.

About the Completion Date

Your certificate's completion date reflects when you actually finished the course, so we don't change it after the certificate is generated.

Match Your ID Exactly
DPS compares your certificate to your identification documents. Even a minor spelling difference or a missing middle initial can cause problems, so verify your certificate carefully before your DPS visit. To prevent errors, enter your legal name and date of birth accurately when you enroll.
