What do I need to do?

The Impact Texas Adult Drivers program (ITAD) is a free, 1 hour informational video that shares the dangers of distracted driving along with real life stories of teens that have lost their lives. It is provided by the Texas DPS, not Happy Drivers Ed. You have 90 days from the date you successfully complete the program to pass the driving skills exam. You MUST bring your valid certificate of completion of this program to the DPS or third party driving test provider at the time you are administered your driving test. The course can be accessed from this web address: https://impacttexasdrivers.dps.texas.gov/ITAD/.

How do I do it?

  1. Schedule your Driving Test Appointment at a nearby DPS
  2. Sign up for the ITAD Program (Make sure to use the same name you used for your certificate)
  3. Create an account
    1. The ITTD course is completely separate from the Happy Drivers Ed course. You will need to create a new account.
    2. When registering it will ask you for driver education type, select TDLR Number, and then “C3476”
  4. Complete the ITAD Program and print a paper copy of your certificate.
    • The certificate must be dated within 90 days of the drive test.
